What's for Dinner, Fri., July 1, 2022

I am feeling so lazy tonight that I'm just making a sandwich on a baguette. I'm thinking I'll use some of the Italian cold cuts that the RG bought at the Italian deli. We have all the good trimmings to add on, like thinly sliced red onion, lettuce, tomato, cheese.

To go with it, potato chips and a cherry berry kombucha.

Dessert: ice cream cone. I was lucky to get that brand I liked from Milk Street. The flavor is cornflake.

I seared and then pan fried a couple of NY Strips
and had some leftover mac and cheese.

I really ought to eat something healthier, but I'm full.

Later perhaps some yogurt and grapes.

but I'm making pizza. Deep dish veggie pizza in 12'' cast iron pan. Husband brought home pizza dough the other night and I had some jarred marinara sauce in the fridge already.
Got mozzarella, broccoli, Roma tomatoes, onion, green pepper, zucchini. Yum.

with homemade sauce, over pasta

Dad had homemade meatloaf, mashed potatoes w/ gravy, and steamed green beans.

I cooked most of all of this food early this morning, as I knew that it was going to be hot today. That was a good decision.

Whole Wheat flour now $5.38 at Wallie's. Was about $2.52 a year ago, $3.38 in March.

I"m fairly loaded up though. Ran into a soon to reach expiration sale.

I'm going to grill some pork ribs and an ear of corn with a salad from the garden.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
