What does soaring mean?
Butter here in Munich is about $5 per pound.
Less if you shop sales and off brands.

(3,576 posts)When I cook, bake, I tend to use butter or olive oil.
I use the regular butter for that. For my table butter I've been using French butter from Normandy with sea salt. 3.75 for about a half pound. Yum, but..
I use a relatively inexpensive olive oil for general cooking and an expensive one just for salad dressings and bread dipping.
I may not splurge on my wardrobe but I do on butter and olive oul.

(55,007 posts)Safeway in SE AZ. I only buy it on sale and keep at least 5 or 6 lbs in freezer in case I miss a special which happens about once a month. sometimes name brand is the deal. Challenge or Land o Lakes.

(22,767 posts)$4.99/lb. at the nearest small local chain. I wish I'd have bought butter there yesterday, LoL is on sale for $3.99/lb, but I didn't need any and so didn't see the price until just now online. Going to have to watch the sales again.
