I bought a couple packs of hot micro green seeds. They are meant to plant in dirt, but I experimented and used my sprout jar and grew them like sprout seeds. They took a few more days, but there is a nice batch ready today.
I forgot to use a fork to keep them from clumping, but no harm done. I have 1 more pack and will keep them better separated. This time of year, when salad greens are costy, I like growing sprouts. Adds some variety to my meals

(6,105 posts)Radish sprouts are great too. But, I absolutely despise alfalfa sprouts. They taste like dirt.

(17,005 posts)She got me some different blends of sprout seeds. Radish, mustard, alfalfa, and maybe another seed. But even with the hot seeds, I don't taste much of a kick. Love the crunch.

(3,414 posts)in the area with the other beans or in the bulk food section. I like to sprout my own and use in stir frys and salads. I use a quart sized mason jar with the metal band securing a square of screen over the opening. Rinse and drain every day, and in a few days you'll have fresh sprouts for your cooking.
