Your tuna salad ingredients?

The stuff I add to the drained tuna varies, but the 2cats get the tuna juice.

This batch will have cubed onions, mashed boiled eggs, spicy relish and Hellman's mayo as the binder.

Whole grain bread. If I don't use eggs, I'll make a tuna melt with the second sandwich.

They have such crunch. That has to be a big part of the satisfaction.

Mine is simple: chopped celery, chopped scallion (white part), tuna, mayo, and lots of freshly ground black pepper. I don't put eggs in it because I never have them around. If I want to get fancy, I'll reconstitute some powdered egg white, microwave it, and cut it up and throw it in, but it really isn't necessary.

Hellman's is Fresh Foods out west. It's the same stuff, same colors on the label, and used to have the same annoying advertising jingle.

I just throw in whatever suits me or whatever is available. Sometimes I'll have leftover boiled eggs and throw those in with mayo, mustard, either relish or chopped up pickles, onion, celery if I have it, fresh peppers if available or red pepper flakes and a splash of soy sauce. Dolphin safe tuna is the only meat I eat since I have issues getting enough protein at times.

(I grew up with it and it's what I prefer), chopped onions and celery, chopped hard boiled eggs, sweet pickle relish and the usual salt and pepper.

I only buy mayo when I need to mix up a dip or other recipe where I don't want/need the inherent sweetness of MW. Husband grew up with mayo, but since I've been doing the cooking the past 25+ years, he prefers MW, too.

ETA: kitties have always gotten the water. Also do this with canned salmon, which I use more often than tuna. Haven't bought tuna in probably a year?

Ultimate? Egg, diced sweet onion, a little relish, good mayo, a drop of food grade lemon essential oil, dill, pepper, celery seed.

In a strange mood? Irish style - top notch tuna, minimal mayo to hold together, raw sweet corn kernels, and slapped on bread with fresh onion and tomato, and shredded cheese.

I cook for one. Unless I can get one of those tiny "snack-packs" of celery, a bunch of celery is about 20X too much, and I don't snack on it.

I have been tempted to substitute bok choy (because you can get one small one!) but it's all a work in progress.

I once had a tuna salad (if memory serves me, which it often doesn't) with apples and dried cranberries and mayo.

Pan bagnat is the best, but not for one.

I need someone to help me consume these goodies. I'm single and only 74. Able to hold LeCreuset at arm's length.

I will look at the soup recipe. Thanks. Celery has glutamates, and some food loads up on celery in various forms as a substitute for MSG. It's flavorful! (but natural)

I'll continue to look for the snack packs and give the baby bok choy a chance. Any remainder of either is great in soup.

When I worked in Sunnyvale, there was a bakery that made the most wonderful Pan Bagnat sandwiches.
Naturally, it wasn't the only one, but one always has memories.

You know: tuna, green pepper, red onion, hard-boiled eggs, olives, and cucumber and/or tomato with vinaigrette. Optional anchovy. I do remember anchovy. There you go.
Tuna salad (without celery ... other veggies do the job ... ) in a baguette. Hmmmm. Next up?

Trick: order anchovy pizza and you'll have it all to yourself.

I make mine with water-pack tuna, diced onions and celery, diced dill pickles and red bell peppers (if I have them). Sometimes I even add thinly sliced baby carrots. Mix with lots of black pepper and ranch dressing as the binder. I like to serve it on a toasted onion roll with iced tea with lemon on the side. This makes a perfect lunch or light dinner. Now I'm hungry!

Kewpie mayonnaise is a must, then random crunchy veg—celery, scallions, peppers, even carrots. Hard boiled egg if I happen to have it around. Usually something in the pickled family—relish, chopped pickles, maybe olives. It’s all very freeform.

Onion, celery and eggs are chopped, either green or black olives. I'll add black pepper, garlic and onion powder. In water-packed, drained tuna.

It is a nice treat.
