I had just started the tea steeping and was putting on a sweatshirt to sip the tea on the porch when there was a bang and the power died. The bang was from a fuse on the pole 100 feet away. Now the fire department, police and power company are two blocks up the hill.

No coffee or toast for a while

bacon
sliced tomato
slice of French bread toast

coffee

Quite a while back, I got an article on my Home Page feed that suggested adding 1 tbsp of sour cream to eggs (in lieu of milk) when making scrambled eggs. I recommend this. It gives the eggs a nice tang.

However, take the sour cream out of the fridge for a bit before you begin prepping your breakfast. It mixes into the eggs better when it's not so cold.

cold vegetable plates many of us were enjoying during the hot summer?

I made one this morning. Sliced garden tomatoes, green pepper, and celery. Sliced basil leaves over the tomato, along with olive oil. Napa cabbage with sesame oil and S&P. And of course: cottage cheese! Chopped shallots over it.

Cherry kombucha and also sweet 'n spicy tea.
