(175,742 posts)Along with dressing, gravy and sliced tomatoes. The latter may seem odd with turkey, but....
Lucinda
(31,170 posts)Doesn't sound odd to me at all!

(31,170 posts)I've been craving hot stuff the last few days.
opiate69
(10,129 posts)..but, speaking of hot stuff, I recently bought a bottle of the hottest hot sauce I've ever tasted.. it's called "After Death (with liquid fire)". Put some on my eggs last weekend and actually wound up with a blister on the roof of my mouth!
Lucinda
(31,170 posts)Did it have any flavor, or was it just scorching?
I add hot sauce to my eggs too...and also to potatoes.

(10,129 posts)Almost has a Sriracha kind of flavor to it (which works for me since I use Sriracha on almost everything)
Lucinda
(31,170 posts)I love hot as long as it has flavor too. This one is probably too hot for me to try though! I don't want blisters!

(21,024 posts)I added a handful of frozen peas and some frozen artichokes that have been cluttering up the freezer for a while. No idea how it will turn out.

(31,170 posts)I'm always trying to find salmon dishes, I'd like to get more in my diet, and I really don't have a great recipe for salmon yet!
pscot
(21,024 posts)though the flavors developed some after it had cooled. The dill kind of took over. It took me a while to put it all together, which is typical with things I haven't done before. This could certainly be done using Chinese or Mexican seasoning. A dipping sauce or some quacamole would definitely be good on the side.
Lucinda
(31,170 posts)and it's good to know this could use some tweaking.

(35,687 posts)I have a stopped-up kitchen sink, so no choice for me.
I'll check out the prepared meals at the closest supermarket.
Plumber coming tomorrow; yay.

p.s. I checked out your link, pscot, and that recipe looks like a winner.

I like to spice or marinate each separately, even though they all end up on one baking sheet.
Chicken (boneless thigh) - simple salt & pepper.
Squash - olive oil & oregano.
Asparagus - yesterday's oil, vinegar and black olive juice dressing.
Mushrooms - thyme, some of the black olive juice.
Laid all out on a baking dish. Baked hot, 425 for 5 minutes. Tossed a bit and another 5 minutes. Ran under the broiler for ~ 3 minutes.
All came out done, browned and al dente on the veggies. Mushrooms got soft and added to the broiler juice for a sauce over all.

(31,170 posts)I'm usually a purist with asparagus, just a little butter and salt and pepper, but I like the sound of a black olive vinaigrette.
I'll have to play with recipes. Black olives are a favorite of mine, but there are times when I can't eat them. A vinaigrette would solve my craving on those days. ?

(146,218 posts)I don't feel like cooking and that's that.
Lucinda
(31,170 posts)After making three meat loaves at 1 am this morning, and not being able to eat any of it due to an a.m. doc appointment, I'm really not in the mood to cook tonight!

since it is a pain otherwise:
2 t ground coriander
1 t ground fennel seed
1/2 t cayenne YMMV--I use more
1/2 t ground cardamon
1/2 t ground cumin
1/2 t salt
1/4 t pepper
1/4 t ground cloves
1/4 t cinnamon
After mixing in bulk, I add 3 T of spices to 2 T butter (melted) and 2-3 T brown sugar. Line a baking pan with tin foil, set 4 filleted salmon steaks in, skin side down. Surround with a slivered sweet onion and brush/pat spice mix on top. (I usually do this for guests and use 1 1/2 the glaze on a whole salmon fillet, with 2 sweet onions. It's very impressive... ) and garnish with cilantro.
Bake at 400 for 15 min, then switch to broil for 4-6 min (6" from heat).
Absolutely delicious and easier than it sounds.
Lucinda
(31,170 posts)I think i'd like it with chicken too. Thanks for the recipe!

(17 posts)There's a place by my house, and almost every monday I order from them (since it's on sale). It's some great pizza.
Lucinda
(31,170 posts)It's good to have a great local place. I don't have many options where I live, so I usually make my own!
