"Cooking for the Invalid" Oh dear.
The drawing of the roast hare is about as unappetizing a thing I have ever seen in a cookbook.

What struck me is that the thought vegetable fiber was harmful and boiled the hell out of everything--string beans boiled for an hour anyone?
