What's for Dinner, Wed., Mar. 30, 2016

I need a break from my own cooking. Ever feel like that? So I went to Trader Joe's and got a couple pizza crusts, and I'll make a pizza with some roasted vegetables.

I also got some chicken-cilantro dumplings. About six bags of chips and four jars of dips. Tired of not having any snacks around here.

I bought lots of different kinds of biscotti, too, 'cuz they are so nice to have with tea. I also bought this new thing called a crispy brownie sandwich.

My guilty pleasure - every couple of months I get the craving. Not sure if I'm going with gravy and mashed spuds, or naked with fries. Which ever, I'll probably have Brussels sprouts.

ps: Yes! Some days I just ignor the kitchen, and usually get takeout. No clean-up is cool.

keep a lot of snack food around here--one bag sweet potato chips, one bag blue corn chips, one container of sesame stix, and one bag of Lays Potato Chips. Our usual snacking method is: straight up, no dip! We do have homemade cookies with butter, shortening, chocolate chips, etc. Calories don't count when it's homemade!

Tonight we are having leftovers.

A house is not a home without snacks!

Well, here's my snack review:

Right now I am having the cranberry coconut snacking crackers with mint tea. This is a new product for Trader Joe's. I'd say it's a winner! They are very crunchy and not sweet. There's a good amount of dried cranberries on them.

I also tried the crunchy brownies. Wow, were they good. Also a new product, I believe.

Earlier I had some flaxseed tortilla chips. I opened one bag of them and also one bag of the mixed vegetable ones. I tried three different dips--black bean, queso, and the best of all, smoky peach salsa.

One snack where I knocked off the whole bag was Baconesque White Cheddar Popcorn. That really hit the spot!

My kitty keeps trying to put her paw in my snacks. You would think I had tuna chips.

There isn't a Trader Joe's anywhere near me, but there might be one within 35 miles soon. It would be worth a special trip.
