Tonight was good. Gordon Ramsey slayed a lobster, getting all of the meat out of one, and made homemade tortellinis filled with lobster.. I do enjoy this show and now I'm really hungry!
And hi, long time since I've said a word here.

(171,065 posts)really did slay a lobbie. He got every piece of meat out of them; it was a thing of beauty. Then his 'students' had to replicate that. Good times I was happy to watch.

(16,334 posts)I like that they actually cook. They aren't quite as bad as Top Chef when it comes to throwing in curve balls that keep the contestants from actually cooking.
The one with the kids is fascinating to me. An 8 year old making a flan!

(3,702 posts)It blows me away - how do they know how to not just create recipes, but all the stinking types of cooking and using all the kitchen tools!
I was in my 30's before I ever used a food processor, I have no idea how to poach anything, roasting can be hit or miss depending on if I am consistent in slicing the veggies evenly.
And the kids have such great attitudes - because it is still fun for them (I hope)

(16,334 posts)they get some of the recipes ahead of time so they practice. Still, they may have to make a pie or a beef wellington. They use food processors like pros.

(171,065 posts)Steely Dan had nothing to do with the name. I grew up in a small town called Babylon, Long Island, NY, and I have sisters. But I love Steely Dan!
