What's for Dinner, Mon., Sept. 12, 2016

T-bone steak. Not sure how I’m going to fix it. We were so busy yesterday that we didn’t fix lunch or dinner. The steak was supposed to be for dinner last night.

The one thing we did have last night was a tomato, and I may try this again tonight. The RG fixed it and it was an unusual way to have a tomato. Anyway, I’ve never had one like this. He sliced it and pressed it in panko. Then he sauteed it lightly in a pan and served it with a tablespoon of mascarpone on top. Also a basil leaf. It was out of this world!

Growing up, we always had ripe summer tomatoes sliced thick, coated with flour, bread crumbs or corn meal and fried. Delicious.

A "no cooking day" for me. Tuna salad sandwich, dill spears, a handful of chips. Cantalope to finish it off.

The usual Asian ingredients--sesame oil, soy sauce, oyster sauce, garlic, ginger.

I put in half a can of water chestnuts.

Mongolian beef is too light on the veggies, though I love the preparation. Must be the combo of oyster sauce and sesame oil.

So, I add broccoli and mushrooms to the mix. It's more balanced than just the spring onions, beef and chilis.

One of my faves!
