State of Texas 2016- Mostly Fried Food Winners

What fun to read all the foods sold at the state fairs. Remember Fried Coca-Cola? A Fletcher's corny dog and a paper cone of Jack's Fries were always my favorites, Plus a candy apple with the hard red cinnamon flavored coating.

We were in the car listening to the radio when they read off the winners for this year. We came up with some ideas.

Here they are:
Chicken Fried Hot Dogs
Fried Banana Pudding
Deep Fried Turkey and Dressing/W Cranberry sauce
Chicken Fried French Fries
Chicken Fried Corn on the Cob
Chicken Fried Dill Pickles
Deep Fried Strawberry Cake

1. I had heard of deep fried butter, think it was aTexas creation.

Still have not stopped shuddering at the thought.

That was about 7 years ago. I agrees, it makes me shudder too.

with a graham cracker coating. Haven't tried it yet.

4. State Fair Fried Food Restaurant Opening in Walmart

Read in today's Dallas Morning News that a restaurant featuring the fried foods of the State Fair of Texas is opening in a Walmart store in Plano (a Dallas Suburb). My mouth felt greasy just reading about the foods that would be sold.
