After deliberating over which model of Instant Pot to buy, and reading numerous reviews, I finally decided on IP Smart. I was so excited!!!
Then, I find out that NO stores have them in stock, and neither does their own online store!!! And neither does Amazon!!! I only found that I could get a "Like New" one from Amazon in 2-3 weeks! Ugh! The waiting is gonna kill me before I can use it! LOL

(15,805 posts)With that long a delay, its probably shipping from China by a third party reseller. It's your money, but I'd be very cautious about all those potential problems and either pick a different model or a more reliable Amazon US seller with it in stock and the usual 2 day shipping.

(14,487 posts)... Original protective wrapping may be missing, but the original packaging is intact and pristine. There are absolutely no signs of wear on the item or its packaging. Instructions are included. Item is suitable for presenting as a gift."
I know it's a chance I am taking, but I decided I really want the Bluetooth enabled model, and I searched every major home/department store's website. None seem to stock the Smart, not even high end stores like William-Sonoma. Probably because of the backorder situation. It's even sold out on the Instant Pot website. So I figured since I set my heart on that model, I'd take the chance.

(1,706 posts)there's a bajillion groups on Facebook and recipes all over the internet. Though, you'll need to do a water test first. Eggs are a good first dish to make.
One tip I have seen and now use, is to keep a journal of what you cook and how it comes out. It helps you be more familiar with the peculiarities of your model.

(14,487 posts)I have not yet taken the time to set up the bluetooth, but I have cooked with it twice. First was a basic beef stew, and tonight chicken paprikash. Both turned out really good! The paprikash took me 40 min including pressure-up and down, and it would have easily taken me 2 hours on the stovetop. Chicken is nice and tender!

(15,089 posts)I have one of the early models and find I get it out over and over. Just this morning I made tapioca pudding without having to soak the pearl tapioca overnight.
Do yourself a favor and order a glass lid to fit the Instantpot, which makes it ideal for serving hot foods like chili on a buffet.
