What's for Dinner, Wed., Mar. 21, 2018

Snow day here! Comfort food alert!

Shrimp and grits. Has a very unique taste; I don’t know what he did to it and he won’t tell me unless I pay him ($1).

For dessert, sliced Gala apples, blue cheese, and toasted walnuts.

Wine, of course. Gotta’ have wine on a day like this.

To make what should be a short story longer. My wife went over to a neighbors the other day. The lady is in her 80s but she insisted she wanted to trim her bushes. My wife who is in her 70s said well I'll help you. At some point my wife tripped and fell. They eventually got the job done. Next day neighbor calls to make sure wife is ok. Says she will soon make a batch of potato salad and send some our way. This morning she calls and says her son is bringing something over shortly. He arrives with potato salad fried chicken and a cake. My wife says she should fall down mire often. This lady makes kick ass potato salad. About to find out about her chicken. and cake.

It's an easy evening. Shrimp platter for an appetizer. SO is making a variation of Chicken Parmesan with Prosciutto on top of the chicken. Angel hair pasta on the side. Steamed asparagus spears with red peppers and pine nuts, (my specialty!). Neapolitan ice cream with pirouettes for dessert.

Allow me to quote a wise woman: "Wine, of course. Gotta have wine on a day like this."

I hope everyone eats well tonight!
