Penzeys Voice of Cooking
Browse our stores or our website and you will be hard-pressed to find anything that was not brought to our shelves as a gift from immigrants. In the desire to pass on the dishes of kindness and caring of their youth to their new families and communities, immigrants blessed America with the greatest diversity of flavor any nation has ever known. We are grateful.
One week ago today, the president used all the stagecraft the White House could muster to portray immigrants as non-human. Some may honestly believe this was not about labeling all immigrants as animals to distract his base and the traditional media from the ever-growing clouds of collusion and corruption overhanging this administration. Some might actually see this as a sincere attempt to micro-manage Californias county jails. Not so much us. For us, now seems a good time to use the voice of humanity at the heart of cooking to try, in our way, to both defuse the fear he is trying to create, and bring the focus back to what he is trying to hide.
We werent prepared for a big event. We have only just received the 1/4-cup jars to get the last of the promised Soul boxes shipped and to the stores for rain checks next week. But as much as we werent prepared for this, as a business by and for Cooks, the intentional dehumanizing of immigrants to distract from the growing evidence that this administration is in power because of the considerable amount of Russian intervention in our election is not something to simply sit by and watch. Cooking is not just how we express our humanity, its most likely where our humanity comes from. Cooking makes us who we are.
Other animals use tools, other animals use language. Were the ones who cook. So for tomorrow night, we are cooking up a really good offer to bring attention to where it is due and remind everyone that it is the humanity and the hope of immigrants that have always made America great. I would like to share the offer details with you now, but if youve ever googled Penzeys Boycott, you know not everyone supports what we do. Once the details are released the undermining begins. You can look for the offer tomorrow at http://send.penzeys.com/WQ0aHhH1k0u3JhM00h09F00 after 6pm Eastern, or in your email inbox early in the evening.

As much as I would like to make this offer available in our stores, this time with the short notice, we just werent able to make this a possibility. I am sorry. To try and make it a little easier on limited budgets, we will be dropping our usual $30 minimum for free shipping to our lowest ever of just $15. Once you see the offer I think you will feel it is a good deal even with shipping and handling.
As one of the businesses at the forefront of using commerce to keep the spirit of America alive, weve discovered a good message travels far, but a good message with a great deal has the possibility of reaching everywhere. So tomorrow night, if you like our message and our offer, please pass it along to those you believe might find it uplifting. We do have really nice Spices and Seasonings. New customers are a big part of how we can afford to do what we do. Your help is appreciated.
Thanks for your support,
Bill

I keep using them and recommending them because their products are great and the prices are fair.
My wife and I give Pensey's collection as gifts now, and it never occurred to me to gift spices to anybody before.
Big thumbs up to Pensey's. Wish they had a brick and mortar store closer than 65 damn miles away...
