What's for Dinner, Tues., June 11, 2019

Appetizer is little eggplant squares, breaded and dipped in tomato sauce. Topped with mozzarella.

Stir fry lamb with broccoli. I know, sounds weird, but that's what you get when the Resident Gourmand is a Scotsman. Besides that, the Chinese actually do use lamb in their cooking. It's rare, but it does happen in certain regions.

Dessert will be a TJ's biscotti (chocolate covered) and chamomile tea.

I half planned to make a lentil loaf but forgot how time consuming it is. Now, I don't feel up to the task. But I still want lentils so I'm looking at lentil and potato recipes. I'll throw something in a pot.

Not the salad: Cesar salad w/ homemade croutons

Cheese ravioli w/ homemade tomato sauce and homemade meatballs

Brownies for dessert (I haven't had one yet--I'm too full)

went to Trader Joe's today and due to your dinner last night...tonight we will be having Tarte d'Alsace, even though it is almost 90 degrees in the house and that requires the oven! how could I resist? I have had the real thing in Alsace (and Flammkuchen, the German version) heck we have made it on flour tortillas, but it is all your fault we are having the TJ version on a very hot day.

salad and fruit for desert. cherries, grapes and there is some cut up canteloupe that needs to be eaten. not many cookies left to go with.

have you tried the buttery, gluten-free ginger chunk cookies? OMG

do we turn on the oven or not?

I almost made a stew. A STEW in June for god's sake! Well, we still have to eat.

Hurry up October!
