Burgers which I cooked on the grill. I put lettuce, red onion, and cheese on them.
I also put on three pieces of chicken with barbecue sauce 'cuz it looks like it's going to rain. These will be nice to have in the refrigerator for an easy, quick meal in the future.
Also am making a chopped tomato salad with mozzarella and basil.
Dessert will be a "fudgesicle." Remember those? Straight out of the 60s.

(22,037 posts)That's one of our favorites. We've got a few variations that we'll throw in and we call it "Rock-'n'-Roll Chicken!"
Enjoy.

(6,796 posts)We have a London Broil in the crock pot with the usual veggies.
It is FLFC's 12th birthday and I hope he decides to partake of the beef, but you never know with him. He enjoyed some watermelon earlier.
We haven't planned any sides, but we have a small watermelon cut up as well as some local peaches. There is also another harvest of tomatoes and yellow squash from the backyard to consider.

(22,037 posts)One of my favorite things to do with our grill is to use it in cold weather. You have to really heat it up but it's so fantastic to have grilled meats and vegetables when there's snow on the ground.
We're going to the Landlady(!)'s niece's home in Chicago for dinner. She and her husband are opera singers and he recently spent some time in Italy where he claims to have learned the ultimate recipe for a Bolognese sauce. I sort of like him but we'll see about his sauce. The best news is that I won't have to pick up the dinner check for 6 as I have in the past!
I loved fudgesicles when I was a kid. I also loved creamsicles and toasted almond popsicles. Today, my cardiologist wouldn't have to kill me because those confections would do it for him!

(68,576 posts)my yearly...not looking forward to next week's appointment...was severely traumatized as a child by a dentist and used to have to take xanax before appointments but now find the gentlest dentist and get gas always. This is a new dentist as we have moved.

(1,706 posts)garlic bread, and an unusual but tasty salad with peaches, cucumbers, romaine and shallots, based on this recipe: https://www.bonappetit.com/recipe/cucumber-and-peach-salad-with-herbs
It being a weeknight, my son cooked. He didn't know I have some fresh mint in the crisper, I think that would have been good in the salad.
