What's for Dinner, Thurs., Dec. 12, 2019

Tonight's going to be a salad and sandwich bar night. This is what I set up on the kitchen counter:

For the salads, choice of coleslaw with shrimp or make a salad from the crudite plate that has white asparagus, cherry tomatoes, cucumber slices, red onion, scallions, red or green pepper slices, sliced balsamic roasted mushrooms, and toppings like sunflower bites, bacon bits, and Chinese noodles, and a few different types of lettuces.

The sandwich bar has ham, turkey salad, tuna salad, Swiss and Cheddar cheese, cream cheese spreads, eggplant and mozzarella slices. Also egg salad. There are sliced bagels, brioche rolls, and cranberry-pecan bread.

I am from the small town where these originated in the 1940s. Peanut butter on a burger. If you haven’t ever tried it-make one!

Here’s a description of the burger and the drive-in that invented it.

Bon Appetite!

I'll probably have some hot cocoa while watching football later. (I think Al ate the rest of the fudgsicles.)

On edit: Dad and Sis had the same thing, except they didn't give me anything with which to make a salad, and I don't usually take care of their dessert. (They both keep ice cream in their freezers.)
