What's for Dinner, Thurs., Feb. 20, 2020

Vegetable plate made up of broccoli rabe sauteed in olive oil with garlic. Roasted beet with sour cream and toasted walnuts over the top. And these little radish/golden beet slices with pepper and olive oil drizzled over them. This picture does not do them justice because they are so colorful. One of the radishes is a purple one and the slices look like sun rays!

In addition, pasta with creamy sauce made with chicken sausage. Poblano, red peper flakes, finely chopped red onion. Finely chopped cilantro. Parmesan cheese.

I like using coconut milk as the base instead of a yogurt.

Veggies are onion, bit of ginger, frozen 3 color veggies, half a sweet potato.

Jasmine rice, hot decafe tea

The Landlady(!) is out of control! Our supermarket in the Catskills has better seafood than our supermarket in NYC. It's fresh, clean and brightly colored. We can't get enough of it!

Our dinner tonight will be sea scallops seared in olive oil and garlic served over yellow rice. She also made a salad/salsa of minced tomatoes, onions, corn-off-the-cob, capers and sliced green beans with a vinaigrette dressing. I baked a loaf of sourdough bread this afternoon, just for fun.

Dessert will be slices of apple and Mandarin oranges. And brandy in front of a fire.
