It is now that 'Should I pull the garlic, or wait a little longer' stage of gardening

The paper on the scapes are just barely starting to dry and the bottle leaves are brown. The problem is, we've gotten a lot of rain and I hate pulling garlic when the ground is wet.

It's going to be 90, today and tomorrow, so maybe I'll pull a few from the south facing gardens, later this afternoon, and see how it looks. (Yea, it's growing in EVERY garden.)

I'm kidding; that's just what I would do because I hate garlic.

When I have any sort of respiratory infection, I make a vegetable soup with so much garlic in it, my eyes start to water.

It has cured infections better than any OTC or prescribed medications I've tried.

Our leaves haven't turned brown yet and we could use some sun. We've had days upon days of that shit southern weather getting pumped up to us, humid, wet, thunderstorms, just plain miserable.

i was going to pick them yesterday morning for maximum beauty and flavor. walked to the garden with my picking basket , but, that 'possum did not even thank me for his beautiful, tasty breakfast. have you ever seen a 'possum run, or jump a fence? they are surprising athletic..

The San Marzano and Marinara are coming along. Still waiting on the Golden Jubilee.

Our weather has been so erratic. Today and tomorrow at 90 then fluctuating between the mid 70's and low 80's for the rest of the week.

"celebrity" is about played out but they are always good.

i've been growing the heat resistant varieties , "heat wave" and most years i like "phoenix," but they have refused to set this year (it may be too hot even for them.)

tomatoes are my favorite crop. we did not have much winter this year so i had an early start and a bumper crop before the hornworms arrived.....
