1. In addition to my second round of paperwhites, I

succummed to the temptation of some mini-daffodils and white hyacinths in pots at Trader Joe's on Sunday. At least I can plant them outside in the Spring-- which can't come soon enough!

We've had some tantalizing sunny days but also torrential freezing rains. Hoping this weird winter doesn't spell worse for the growing season. :

2. I potted up a number of pots of bulbs back in October.

Hyacinths, daffs, and tulips. Alas, they haven't gotten enough chill yet to merit forcing them. I usually start bringing some in now, but I'm going to wait another 3-4 weeks, after we've had some true winter weather.

Nothing beats having spring bulbs in the house during the winter. Especially hyacinths!

4. Hell no - cold weather is the PERFECT time to snuggle up with someone under a blanket.

That sure as hell isn't boring.

5. Haven't you received your seed catalogs yet?

This is the time of year to plan that next garden!
