Have had many, many cats in my lifetime but never experienced this problem. Hope it doesn't take long to get your kitty well.

This is treatable, and since your kitty appears to be healthy in every other way, it should be fine. Giving the meds will be a pain, but it will be worth it in the end. Since giardia is a parasite, it can be transmitted to humans, so be extra vigilant. And clean everything really well, with bleach or Lysol if possible. And I would inform the rescue group where you got the kitty, because it more than likely came from there and they should also be taking precautions.

Good luck getting your kitty healthy.

I can only imagine the nicknames this kitty will endure for the rest of its life.

At least you know what it is now and how to treat it. Just think how thrilled you'll be when kitty has normal bowel movements in the future. Even years from now you'll probably feel a little tingle every time the kitty makes normal poops because of going through this now.

Our sweet baby girl dog that was rescued at six weeks old had giardia... she was so sick. Make sure to bleach out your food bowls and cat boxes. We had to clean out the back yard to make sure our other dog didn't catch it. Nasty stuff.

Good luck, I hope the kitteh is on the mend soon!
