It is "grease" (oil) based so keep that in mind before using any other stain removers. Don't delay, though. Set grease-based stains are a real bear to get out.

Puppy could easily get a Dawn bath.

I had a brittany spaniel that was the sweetest thing you ever saw, but had a knack for getting into trouble. He got out of the fence and well back into the woods behind my house. After 20 minutes of frantic searching I could hear a moaning sound and the strangest knocking sounds, as if a plastic club were knocking against all the trees. Eventually I found the source. My sweet little spaniel had come across one of those commercial sized (gallon or more) plastic jugs of mayonnaise (quite rank, of course) and had gotten the whole thing stuck on his head. He was frantically and blindly batting his jug encased head through the woods with rancid mayo dripping down his whole face and out the jar. I'm amazed he was even able to breathe in all that goo.

So, yeah, I'm quite familiar with the messes they can make.. But, I got to tell you that once I got that poor little dog extricated from the jug and cleaned up, I could scarcely stop laughing. After the mess was done, it really was funny. (and that dog was mighty grateful for my help, I have to tell you)

Love those "ornery" pups!

I am laughing now but I am still a bit annoyed!

I have already tried dish soap. She is stained red everywhere! LOL! I even had to brush her TEETH! She had big globs of Chanel RED on her gums and toothy's! I'll post up some pics later. UGGG!

PS: The dish soap has worked somewhat well, but she has a red pigment all over her sweet little face! : Crazy doggy!

Start with alcohol, which works well. Do not rub, or you'll spread the mark. Simply take a clean, white cloth and moisten it with alcohol. Then, blot the lipstick stain, which will disappear.

Another home remedy is dishwashing detergent such as Sunlight and Dawn, both formulated to fight grease. For this method of lipstick stain removal, dab on a little detergent, let it set for about 10 minutes, and then gently begin working on the stain from the outside edges inward.

Another great home remedy for removing lipstick stains is ammonia. Just about everyone has ammonia at home for cleaning and if not, it can be found at any grocery store for just a few dollars.

Again, start by blotting off as much of the stain as you can, using plain water. When done, use a cotton swab moistened with ammonia to dab at the stain. Once the stain begins to fade, wash the shirt by hand in warm soapy water, preferably using Dawn dishwashing detergent.

Finally, hairspray is an old trick used by women (and men) for years. As long as the fabric will permit it, spray right onto the stain, and then let it sit for about 10 to 15 minutes. In most cases, a clean cloth moistened with warm water is all you need to wipe the stain away. If your find this method of lipstick stain removal does not completely remove the stain, repeat and then wash by hand using Dawn or Sunlight.

Note to self, make sure anything like this is up and out of puppy's reach. I am learning so much here.

My camera is not uploading.. I have no idea why! Took a bunch of pics and I cannot upload!!! WTF? Hope to figure it out soon!

I got most of the lipstick off her face wit BABY OIL! Yup! Just used a paper towel and a few drops. It seemed to clean her up better.

The carpet and the bedroom is another story. I tried the baby oil on the carpet and it helped bit it is still not good. I have a service coming out on thursday.

She, ofcourse...slept like a baby... snoring all night long as if nothing happened.

. . . . unconditional love.

That's what she has for you. No matter what.

True enough, you got more than most of us have gotten from the puppies in our lives, but over the years, this will fade. Only the humor of it all will remain.

And of course, she'll be there too, calmer, muzzle all gray, content just to be with you.

Unconditional love.
