Third (and final??) SOP for comment

We think this is the final draft of the group's supplemental SOP. The intent, after a last chance to comment, is to put this in a pinned, locked thread. It will stand there until such time as it needs an update or the group decides they want it taken down.

For now, this is the final text (pending comments) as it will appear in the proposed pinned thread.

The DU Pets group is intended as a safe place for people to share the pet lover's experience. The depth of the emotional connection with our pets should be respected here, both our connection to our own pets and to animals in general. We realize there are many possible flashpoint issues around animals. Please discuss them without getting personal. Of particular import this includes derailing threads about personal situations with contentious issues; please give your fellow group members the respect to peacefully post their joys and their sorrows.

Please also keep in mind DU has an animal rights group. There are some threads about animals, and even some about our pets, that might be better there than here.

Lastly, and to quote Skinner: “Remember: DU is supposed to be fun — don’t make it suck.”
