My little guy survived an intestinal blockage

OMG the agony he put me through last week! It started with vomiting then refusing to eat. He wouldn't even eat chicken. I let it go a couple of days thinking it might be a tummy bug but no... the vet tried to avoid surgery but the xray was suspicious. He tried a barium tracer to see what was going on but couldn't rule out a blockage.

Two days later, after still not eating, the poor pup's electrolytes were so out of whack the vet said he had to go in. The little stinker swallowed a cloth of some kind. When I brought him home he tore around the yard as if nothing had happened.

It's been a few days since surgery now and the only indication something happened is a shaved tummy.

Whew! This was traumatic for both of us. Now that he's recovered, it's time for my bank account to do the same - he pretty much drained it.

except to go chase the cat or curl up in his kennel to nap. He goes into his kennel voluntarily - it's his safe place.

The vet said he can go back to his normal routine. He also told me that there was a string/threads attached to the cloth that were very hard to remove. He said many dogs wouldn't have lasted that long.

My tough little fighter.
