so there could be copyright and trademark issues. That being said, sweet kittys make my heart melt. So, whatever.

Then you could kick it every day!

JUST KIDDING! I just rescued a kitten a few weeks ago.

I usually name my cats after musicians. I've got a Muddy, a Steviewonder, a Bootsy (Collins), and a dog named Zeppelin. The odd one out is our tiger striped Russian blue..."The Beans".

I was going to name my next male after Leon Russell, but now that Tom Petty passed..... I do really like Leon though. Unless I get a white Kitty next. He'll have to be Johnny Winter.

In my family pets get people names. I've had many cats: Fred (I), Ginger, Ricky, Lucy, Dylan, Samantha, Riley, Freddie, Jake and our current boys Charlie and Andy. My daughter has a Lab, Lucy, and cats Eddie and Lilly.

I recently read about Nicholas Winston who quietly saved hundreds of kids from Nazis. Then he went on to be anonymous for years until many of the kids he saved showed up to surprise him on a British tv show like 40 years later after his wife found an old scrap book in the attic and learned about what he did.

So Winston, or Winnie for short.

And named for a deceased relative! (above). He was adopted from the same city where Grandpa's side of the family was from. A very affectionate and talkative Russian Blue lookalike.

Mythical characters: Calliope, Echo, Anubis.

Last batch got New Orleans themed names: VooDoo, Cajun, Creole, MoJo.

Are there cool words related to your location?

We have not. I think we will watch him for a few days yet.

He's noisy and squeaky. He is active and friendly, but very gentle. We have to get a handle on his personality.

(I love talkative tabbies--- I was owned by a loudmouth gray Tabby named Tabby. I regret not recording his meow and setting it as my ringtone. I miss that loud mouth.)

My next feline overlords will be named after cities I've worked in. Lexington, Abingdon, Raleigh, Portland (Maine Coon to distinguish the state), Vancouver, Babylon, Elizabeth.
