(9,897 posts)Sorry for your loss and thank you for providing a wonderful home and life to Mocha.
I have no words to make it easier, but those photos show a lot of happy memories that may in time replace the sorrow.

(9,426 posts)Beautiful girl. All they have to give is love, and they give their all. So glad she knew she was loved in return. They really do "leave footprints on our hearts" She has crossed the Rainbow Bridge, and will be waiting for you.

The bestest critter we've ever had was a Lab who died 34 yrs ago. We have another one now and are adopting a 2nd the day after Christmas. Dogs are the most loving, loyal people.

I can't help but notice seeing a lot of our "better halves" being lost and posted on DU lately. What is going on? I am superstitious and my little girl is 14 1/2 and my first was 15 when she died at this time of year. Has anyone else noticed this besides me? I am so paranoid now I won't let mime out of my sight for a minute.

(37,648 posts)My heart goes out to you. I just lost my Cocker Spaniel, too. It's breaks a person's heart. You know they will go before you, but I've never been ready. I kept thinking....I want him back. I want him back.
I feel for you in the loss of your little companion. But she certainly had a loving home and was a very lucky dog. You were lucky, too.

(2,451 posts)I know they really are family members and losing them truly breaks your heart and brings true grief. It will hurt for a long time, but it will get better eventually. I hope you have another puppy to love. That does help ease the pain some.

(261 posts)What a beautiful creature was your Mocha. You can see her sweet soul reflected in her eyes. We have two dogs, and I dread the day that we lose one of them. It looks like Mocha had a happy life and was well-loved. Please take care.

(60,034 posts)Our house is dog-free for the first time in 37 years. Mocha is not there to eat my apple core - follow me up to bed, crawl underneath - then wake and jump up in the morning to lick my face.
It is the little things that Sue and I will miss, for sure. Not the big vacations with them at the beach (yet they were such fun - Mocha and Buddy had 19 vacations to Ocracoke with us)....it is morning feedings, walks, all the ordinary stuff.

(160,662 posts)It would be impossible to avoid such a deep sense of loss, as she would be wonderful to see forever.
Hoping the larger story we may learn about eventually will put everything in a loving perspective, and remove the pain.
You were so lucky to experience such a fine friend, and it's clear she loved her life with you and your family and her fur friends.
It will be hard to forget seeing the fantastic photo of her swimming with the other lab as they jointly retrieved the stick.
Thank you for the beautiful images.
Very best wishes.

What an adorable puppy - and a beautiful dog. As tough as it is right now, you gave her a wonderful life and it's obvious that she was loved. That's the best that any of us can hope for...
