Happy Birthday Lil Shiznits.

They just turned a year old yesterday. They got to play outside for most of the day. These photos are from right when we rescued them. Their mom is feral. She has since been trapped and spayed and has all her shots now. All the kittens are all fixed now too.

I know these aren't great photos, but there are 4 kittens in the cage. We adopted the little gray girl about a month after rounding them up. We still have the other 3. We're keeping them now since we've had them so long.

One of my dogs is a 'cat person' though...

The other dog is fluent in sarcasm...

In front of a store one day 16 years ago, there were two of her brothers still left.

I went back to the store three days later and they were still there, meowing, dirty, flea infested and hungry.

So Bobcat and Tomcat came home with me too, they are gone now but the KittyMonster still reigns supreme.

How was I to know I adopted a needy tyrant who starts meowing loudly at 4 am "Feed Me Now"? even though her bowl is always full?.

It's because she can't use a can opener and dry food just won't do first thing in the morning.

She's got more than a few years left and I dread the day she passes on.

But then I'll go get another child of the fur bearing mammal variety.

Or two.

Good for you taking on a bunch of new additions to your family.

And good luck.

Eightball is the big black and white lab mix. He just adores the kittens. When we first brought them into our house we gave them our bedroom to play in. Eightball walked in and all four kittens hissed and darted under the dresser. Eightball just jumped up on the bed and waited for them to get curious. He's like their surrogate mom. He dotes over them and they do figure eights rubbing their scent all over him.
