Morgan is sort of grazing, this morning

A little wet food, a little dry food, even a little bit of scrambled egg. I'm off to buy some stage 1 meat baby food, if I can find it. She's alert, and seems as if she's sniffing around for something that appeals to her. So weird. I'll just keep trying. I read that sometimes you just need to set out a smorgasbord.

On the other hand, Madoc demonstrated that a 3 foot barricade is NOTHING to him. I'm going to put them up in the play room, before I leave for the shops, in case he's planning on building some sort of booster ramp. He's a very clever little kitten.

It's going to rain, for the next few days, so I'll finish doing my best to move any breakables and then just give up on confining them to the den. I know it will make my life easier. Not sure about Sophie's. Her perches have moved from the laundry tub to a shelf on the front enclosed porch, to the seat of the lawn tractor, to one of the toilet seats (I make sure they are always closed, and now to the fireplace mantel. She's still gently swatting at the kittens, if they get too close, but still no real aggressive behavior.

It's 7:30 am and I'm ALREADY EXHAUSTED. Mainly because my day started at 4.

I just want little Morgan to be back to her old self. And maybe Madoc to be a little LESS like his current self. He's a berserker kitten, this morning!!

I've had cats for 35 years.

Boo was the first. He got a friend's kitten pregnant when he was a kitten and became a father at 11 months. I kept Bear and Junior Boo. Boo only lived 10 years, but his son's made it to 15 and 16.
A few months after he died I found a kitten who'd been thrown out of a car.
Her name was Cassie, and she was the alpha and ruled the 2 older boys. When they died I got Guy, who made it to 17. Cassie and guy were very close. Cassie made it to 13, and then I rescued Tooter when she was 8, from the humane society, as a companion for guy. She and guy did not bond. I found a feral kitten in my garden, named her Eden, and she and guy were friends. Tooter preferred to be an only cat, but she wasn't. She lived several years longer than guy.

A year after guy died a friend had found a kitten I was going to adopt for Christmas but it died
2 days before Christmas. I went to the humane society on 12/23 but they had no kittens so I left with a dog, I joke that I got him on sale because they had a reduced adoption fee for the holidays.
He is dachshund beagle mix. He and Tooter became friends, apparently she'd lived with dogs before and Milo had lived with cats. Tooter made it to 18.
Eden was "no dog, no way, no how" it took a year for her to be in the same room.
Now they're friends.

I've enjoyed your posts and photos of the kittens.
Try some goats milk. It's very nourishing.

It sure helped with Sophie. And I found the baby food I was looking for. Just evaporated milk with an eye yolk and some Karo syrup. Very easy.

it is just what we do. I feel total responsibility for mine snd that is ok. They give me something in return that I cannot even define. Stay the course. As I said before you are marvelous.

I'm glad I bought 3 jars. Maybe I can start mixing it into kitten food. We'll see.
