Pets
Related: About this forumI do believe pets can sense when you are in pain. That's not such a good thing, with Madoc!
My knee has been very painful, this week, but it's just a ligament issue that flares up from time to time so I know how to treat it. I've been resting it and hobbling around with my trusty cane, not moving fast, only when necessary. So, guess who decided this is the PRIME time to wreak havoc in the kitchen. Mr. Madoc. Splashing around and drinking from the dish pan (there are TWO fresh water dispensers) trying to steal the cream cheese while I'm assembling my morning bagel, jumping up on the counter and knocking a variety of things onto the floor, including a glass candle jar, ARGHHH. Oh, and SOMEHOW getting the lid off of the kibble jar and knocking it over, spilling about half of the contents.
He's lucky I love him so much or I'd put the playpen out in the snow and give him some 'time out' to reconsider his behavior.
And, of course, Gryff is an apt student.
Oh well, I'm doing my first outing in a WEEK to pick up a few things. Hopefully I don't find a disaster zone when I return.

(26,315 posts)They are stampeding around the house, now, so I anticipate a collapse into nap world is soon to come.
One of the guides on the safari show I watch always refers to playful lion and leopard cubs as being 'full of beans'. I'm going to start using the same phrase to describe my mischievous boys.

(6,614 posts)We keep a small bowl in the kitchen for his cheese treats & he's gotten to the point where if he's in the kitchen & we open the refrigerator door he walks over & looks at the bowl, then sits next to it looking at us, waiting for a cheese treat.
He has us well trained!

I've already locked him out on the porch because he has this stealth way of slipping past me. Now I triple check when I go outside, just to be sure he isn't right behind me.
