Decision made. Kittens are coming in today.

The gray one's eye has a little discharge and is closed. I'll try to wipe it with the warm water cloth and if it isn't better by tomorrow, we're off to the vets. Plus, they are SO CLOSE to wandering outside of the crate.

The playpen is ready, I've got everything to do a de-flea'ing and I've got kitten milk, a bottle, an eye dropper, a litter box, a bed. I'm going to get their scent on a piece of cloth and let the boys have a sniff, but I'll keep them separate for at least a week. Then a S-L-O-W introduction will take place.

Now to wait for Spooky to go on a walk about. And then to start feeling super guilty, even though I know this is for the best.

5. Definitely. They will be behind a closed door in the en suite bathroom.

The other 3 are clear eyed so I'm wondering if it's a foreign object - some dirt or something or even a scratch. It was fine, just the other day.

9. Hopefully it's just an irritation.

But I won't take any chances.

One of the black ones had a closed eye, a few days ago, but now it's just fine.

Fingers crossed!

I thought you already had two young cats. Are you getting more kittens ?

I finally have a trap to try and catch her but it's tricky because the local TNR does intake on just Tuesday through Thursday so I have to time things.

Fingers crossed I can find a home for the 3 I'm not keeping. And this will put me at indoor feline capacity.

6. I didn't have too much trouble with Sophie when I brought in the 4, last year

She wasn't happy but she mostly ignored them.

Since it's getting so much warmer, I can also keep them on the outdoor enclosed porch, during the day. In the play pen, of course.

Hopefully a nearby program/clinic can help her before she is bred again? I'd love to donate for the procedure if needed? Once the kittens are taken away, she will definitely go into estrus within only 4 weeks and end up bred again ☹️

I brought in a whole famiiy - except the dad and my house had to be bombed for fleas. Sad but true.
We managed it, though...

tube of terramycin. There's nothing in it that can irritate the eye and the discharge will be gone in two days. I always keep a tube of terramycin on hand.

Once I gently washed around it, the eye opened right up. I will definitely have it checked, though.
