Related: About this forumThe babies squeak 'Good Morning, DU!!'
I'm glad this every 4 hours feeding schedule won't last for long. After the 2am feeding I couldn't fall back to sleep until some time after 4, then back up, again, at 5:30.
They are eating well. Especially this morning. They don't like that rubber nipple so I'm using an eye dropper. I put a little kitten milk in a jar lid and a couple of them actually lapped it up, so I'm thrilled about that!
They are incredibly snuggly and vocal. And they are starting to play with each other, which is so cute.
I think I will get them to the vet, this morning, just to err on the side of caution. Get them weighed and get the definitive word on the genders.
I still get heavily sniffed by the boys, when I leave the kittens, but other than that they are acting as usual.
Fed the ferals and Spooky was there. Perhaps I'm imagining that accusatory expression on her face.
Anyway, here's the kids:

(26,269 posts)They were hissy, spitty and swatty for a couple of days. And they were about this same age. Maybe the difference is, ever since their eyes and ears opened, they have heard my voice and seen my face. I'd get right down on the ground and talk to them.
One thing is the same, though. The smallest one is the LOUDEST one.

(16,903 posts)How do you manage having so many cats ??

(26,269 posts)This is not a small house so there's room for them to roam. Especially now that the weather is warm and I can open up the 3 season room and screened in back patio.
And, the kittens will be spending most of their time in the play pen, for the first couple of months. Hopefully I can find homes for the ones I'm not keeping. If not, I'll take them to our local Humane Society AND give them a donation. Kittens get adopted really fast.

Haha! The squeeky wheel...
I hope the vet says you can swipe them now.
Spooky might bring you a present for babysitting them.

(34,111 posts)I think we are just rounding out the last of it. I came pretty close to the edge but my wonderful electro cardiologist is my hero. Even his nurses told me they would work for him for free.
Thanks.

(6,556 posts)You are truly blessed, Siwsan! My feral mom cat had a litter about 3 weeks ago. I am expecting her to bring them to the garage in another week or two. Can't wait to meet them. Kitten fun!

(22,537 posts)enough milk down. Vets say to make the babies suckle strongly, but not one kitten says so. They don't want to have to work so hard!! If you're not using a diaper pin with a nice, big plastic clasp, buy one! One problem is getting the fiery hot needle tip into the nipple without burning your fingers, but the diaper pin solves that. My kittens loved their cone shaped nipple, but they're hard to find. Good luck!!!!

(26,269 posts)I'm going to try, once more, to enlarge the hole. I don't know why they don't come, ready to use!
Oh well. They will be a month old on Wednesday so the change over to slurry will soon be happening. Madoc and his siblings did great, after I switched, even though I did still supplement milk and water with the eye dropper or bottle.
I'm going to keep an eye out for those cone shaped ones, just in case.
