Next to a standard wireless mouse, you can see how "big" Freya is.
Toys are essential.
It's like having a human baby. Lots of interrupted sleep, for both of us.
Without my cats my wallet would be full and my house would be clean but my heart would be empty.

I have a track ball toy, it's one of those round, 3-level ball roller things. My big cats all play with it and this little girl figured it out right away. She's swatting those balls around several times every day. Best toy ever, IMO.

(23,995 posts)My kitchen tile is white with black specs in it. Every speck had to be examined. The bubbles fizzing in a glass of ginger ale were fascinating.
I got her at 9 weeks old just 2 weeks before Christmas. Decided to have a tree (artificial) against my better judgment. The whole decorating process was a game with so many "toys" to play with and boxes to explore. To keep her occupied, I gave her a small metal bell ornament to play with. It has a tiny, real clapper inside. As soon as she discovered that it makes noise, she pranced around with it in her mouth, shaking it to hear the sound. When it was time to take the tree down, I discovered that she had decided to help when her face appeared halfway up from inside the tree behind the ornaments that she was pushing to the floor.
Never a dull moment. I was on full alert constantly because I never knew what would appeal to her next.

(8,588 posts)Thanks. I've got some jingle balls somewhere, under something. I'll have to look for them.
Christmas tree won't be happening here, other than a tiny one on top of the fridge. But that's okay. I have a whole bunch of cats so that's just the norm now.
Miss Freya likes to watch videos of birds and animals.

(23,995 posts)for Ember and she loved it. Sat mesmerized in front of the TV for all of it, except for the times when she jumped up to the TV stand to look behind it when birds flew off screen. But, she grew tired of it after a few viewings. Got her different one, but she was less interested in it.
She does occasionally watch parts of movies with me. And she likes the fast action of cartoons. Snoopy is her favorite.
EDIT TO ADD: She is 6 years old now and does not get into as much mischief as when she was younger - at least not accidentally. Now her mischief is intentional, when she wants attention.

(23,947 posts)I miss having a kitty. So full of life and love.
You've got a sweet pupster, though, who gives you lots of love. Is that why you don't get a cat? Or is it just the overall time commitment thing right now? We have a ton of kittens to spare down here.

(23,947 posts)Ive got a small parrot
a conure (Punch) that was supposed to be my sons bird but he never bonded with him so now Punch is mine. Birds and cats
not the best combo.
