Related: About this forumI'm bottle feeding kittens
I have two three-week-old kittens Im bottle feeding. They were half dead when I got them a couple of days ago, but a nest made of an electric blanket and careful bottle feeding has turned them around. Ive discovered that the perfect tool for feeding them is a silicone ear syringe from when my grandson was a baby. It looks something like this one:

Except the one I have has a longer, narrower business end, which the kittens have no trouble latching onto. Ive been looking high and low for another just like it, but no luck so far.
Time for a feeding now, then off to bed because I have to get up again later to feed them.

(26,262 posts)Arthur and his siblings were 3 weeks old when I rushed them to the vet because of eye infections. I remember those round the clock feedings. I never had much luck with the bottles I bought so I ended up using eye droppers to feed the kittens.
Fortunately at the 4 week mark they were diving into bowls of milk/pate slurry. I was still getting up in the middle of the night to feed them, but it was a much easier process. Until it came time to clean them up. Young kittens are such MESSY eaters!!
My 2nd priority with all 8 kittens I've rescued is socializing them with lots of cuddles and conversations so that they will be comfortable around people. It seems to have worked.
