But very minimal swelling - hardly noticeable - and no bruising. I'm kind of limping but I was able to do my grocery shopping this morning. After I got home I took a hot soak in an Epsom Salts bath because I pretty much ache all over from tensing up as I was falling.

Madoc is making up for his jerkish behavior, this morning, but cuddling next to me.

At least you were able to get the shopping done. You won’t have to worry about that.
My mother swears by Epsom Salts. She would have us soak in anytime one of us was injured. I hope it gives you relief from feeling achy.
I’m glad Madoc knows his mama needs to extra cuddles today. They are sooooo unbelievably smart and even more adorable.

get tripped up by one of the cats? I had not heard about it. Hope you are doing better today. When my cat comes running my way, I stop walking until she goes by me. I had another cat years ago that came running towards me and I stopped and he ran into my leg. He hit so hard it left a bruise and it hurt.

I had been out on the front walk earlier in the day. When I went out to check the mail there was a plastic stake used to stabilize a solar light right beneath the bottom step. I didn't see it, stepped on it, it rolled and so did my ankle. That sent me crashing to the ground.

And while I can't PROVE the squirrel put it there, it is the most logical explanation. The squirrels have never forgiven me for buying bird feeders with metal perches and tube protectors, not to mention using those rather effective squirrel baffles.

I think in a day or so it will be pretty much healed. If I stay off of it, that is.

She appears to have 3 kittens (or at least ones that look like her that she's will to share food with, though one of the 3 is much smaller than the other 2), and they look really similar to your fur babies. Mom in particular looks like Arthur.

One of the kittens actually let me walk up and pet it's tail a bit as it sat on the wall yesterday. I think it's about 12 weeks. The mom and other 2 are much more skittish, though. Mom hisses at me when I walk up to feed her even though she knows what I'm there for, but the second I turn my back she's on the pile of food.

I'll try to get pics soon and share

I just keep talking to her. Sometimes she will settled down and even meow. Perhaps she holds a grudge.

Scooter, Carys' mom, lets me pet her when I'm filling the bowls. She always patiently waits by the door for me to step outside and then runs zig zag right in front of me. I have to be careful not to step on her!

I often wonder how many 'help, I've fallen and I can't get up' calls that come into 911 are caused by cats at feeding time. I'd bet it's a significant %.

but it's sort of a perfunctory hiss, which he follows with a lot of meowing. So I think the hissing is just something he does because he thinks he ought to. He's not afraid of me and he runs right up to his bowl and starts eating while i'm dishing up his food.

The first time I restrained myself and left her alone/didn't feed her, but this batch of kittens is just too damn cute.

Started putting out a handful of dry stuff each day on the wall 2 weeks back, and I delight in seeing them scurrying round and eating what I give them.

I'm an incredibly softie at heart, and hope I'm doing the right thing by doing this, it's my first time feeding ferals.

If you have a feral cat organization in your community, you could probably borrow a trap from them to catch mama and get her spayed at a low- or no-cost rate so she wouldn't keep making litters for you to feed. (But then of course the babies might start breeding unless they're fixed too ...).
