My daughter's visiting over X-mas with her 2 cats

And we have one. She's kind of an Alpha female. Any suggestions? If they fight constantly, she has a friend they can stay with. As of now, the plan is to have them stay in her room and see if they get used to each other.

sit outside the door to smell them. At some point little paws will poke out under the door and then the curiosity will overcome all. (That being said I had a cat named Monster. Nobody in my family would allow him in their homes the last time I needed their homes. My dad had to handle him with oven mitts the first time he came to town. He was an alpha).

I've had a lot of cats and dogs over the years. They all got along better when they learned to associate good things with being together. Any toys or treats that they can all share at the same time might help the situation. It's really a crap shoot though. Good luck and have a nice holiday season!

They arrived Thursday night. So far so good. They're being kept in her bedroom. We bought one of those Feliway things and keep that running all the time. Our cat will sniff under the door and will occasionally growl. But they're haven't met in person yet. Maybe in the next day or two.
