I remember watching that race and being totally enthralled by him.

We heard a lone horse coming. He came and went. Then a whole herd of horses showed up, racing each other. The infield was a swamp. Rain the night before left the track almost muddy. Earlier in the day it had been a sloppy mess.

Oh, to be twenty on a bright and sun shiny Derby Day in Louisville.
