yes, they should be. More than one child has been killed (by police) when his toy was mistaken for the real thing.

Great idea! (Though I thought they had already been banned.)

There was some hysteria about "plastic guns" when Glock come out with its non metal frame. Much of it from a product placement ploy in a Mel Gibson movie, along with the "cop killer bullets"
Any actual "plastic gun" was banned from import or manufacture in 1988. Not that it really matters because you won't find them in any gun shop in Europe or Canada either since the technology doesn't exist.
The pistol in the pic is a Glock model 21. Glock pistols are standard issue pistols for the Austrian military as well as police departments around the world including NYC.
Two Glock models may be purchased by private individuals in Europe but not in the US.

BTW, even if you could make an all plastic gun that worked, metal detectors and x ray would still detect the ammo.

That's an easy way to cool off in the backyard if you don't feel like heading to the beach.

However, the metalic content of your "plastic" is rather high.

Excluding ammunition.

The federal minimum is 3.7 ounces, or about a quarter pound.

Nice try.
