Gun Control & RKBA
Related: About this forumMurder
From the 2009 FBI UCR, there were 13,756 murders. 352 were committed with rifles. They were not all AR type rifles nor, necessarily, any on DiFi's list of bad rifles. (about 2.5%)
For the same year 815 murders were accomplished with "personal weapons", that's hands and feet, BTW. (almost 6%)
If we need to register rifles, shouldn't we also take fingerprints and hand impressions of the whole population? Wouldn't that help in fighting crime?

(49,445 posts)A lot of gun-related homicides do not have the type of gun listed. Assuming similar proportions to the known gun usage, we can estimate about 410 or so.

(3,071 posts)Apparently there were 16 in 2012. Seven were by guns of all types, 5 by knife and 4 by "force". I guess knives will be more popular if we tax bullets. Still, how do you do a drive by with a knife?

(18,483 posts)I guess you don't. I would guess they'll have to get up close and personal, at least until they steal a pistol.
