Gun Control advocates trying to distance themselves from video...

LOL!!!!!! This is absolutely HILARIOUS!! When another one of their "surefire" pro-gun control pseudo PSA utterly flopped, and exposed them to outright ridicule for showing a kid stealing his parents handgun, and taking it too school and plopping it on his teacher's desk because he "did not feel safe" this is what the CSGV had to say:

“I smell a rat here,” Ladd Everitt, a spokesman for the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, told Vocativ on Tuesday. “To me, this reeks of something that’s been planted.”

“It’s shocking how this suddenly went viral on right wing media when no one in our movement is promoting this video,” Everitt continued. “I’m actively questioning who this woman is. And I’d like to know who paid for this and why.”

It is amazing how people are running away from this video, when at first they were all excited about it..

Gun advocates here don't run from anything.

Our positions are what they are and speak for themselves quite independently of the NRA and has-been musicians.

Gun Control advocates have their own protected lair on this very forum, were absolutely no dissenting opinion of the dogma is tolerated.

And they say WE are running?!?!

I've never stood with Nugent and the NRA in the first place. I am my own person.

Yet, plenty of controllers that visit this group felt the ad was legitimate and even approved of the message and now suddenly it's so embarrassing non-existent flight from non-existent alliances is offered as a "You do it too!" cover.

Gun rights supporters are regularly characterized as whack-job conspiracy theorists. So here we have yet another example of projection.

Among these are numbered the maker of the video, and her fans such as yourself

Have any of you really thought about what happens when the parent finds out the gun is missing?

You lot need to stop acting on your feeelings, and start thinking about consequences...

When you have no facts to support you ... and an appeal to raw emotion fails to carry the day ... go for the penis reference and run away.

And they wonder why they never get anything really done.

At least they kept Castle Bansalot alive for almost a year and a half ... well sort of anyway.

So much for consistency.

They require a "safe haven" in bansalot and at least one over there does not even want firearms owners to be allowed any groups or forums on DU. Can we say censorship.

EM from the other group posted this....

I'll try to be fair, while at the same time maintaining the reputation as "castle bansalot" for keeping the gun nuts out. They have their own forums to wax poetic about their tools of death, they have no business polluting this one as well.

Of course when called on what furoms or groups, he could only come up with two, one of them being outdoor life. That other group was dead and some pro-RKBA members were able to post as the hosts even quit. Now they are scared as they can not block dissenting viewpoints and are trying to get an active host for that group. More power to them but it will not help in my opinion.

We've had a few grabbers types over the years that "demanded" that Skinner get rid of the Gungeon and all it's participants, since we "aren't real Dems anyway".

Demanding something where you are a guest does not usually go over well and they all wound up going away after insisting that Skinner and Co. see everything their way.

To his credit, Skinner is allowing this as the only open forum I can find anywhere on the internet that actually allows both sides of the gun control argument to be heard. (And I'm obviously not talking about the echo chamber Bansalot)

"We're all heartless, blah, blah, blah", "Stroke your guns", nothing new here and certainly nothing that will change the direction of gun rights, on DU or anywhere in the real world either. I used to get upset with the stupidity and massive displays of "small i" ignorance. Now the desperation is just good for a laugh, as violent crime continues to drop and CCW continues to expand.

We're pretty much all still here, long after the fiery gun controllers and their "demands" come and go. The good folks we have lost usually were canned because of activity in other forums.

If it were Florida, it would be grand theft, minor in possession of a firearm, carrying concealed firearm without permit, possessing a firearm at a school bus stop, taking the firearm on a school bus, and having the firearm on school grounds. Each of those are up to five years per count. If it happens to be Washington, Michigan, North Carolina, Colorado, or any other state with licensing/purchase permit/background check at FFL for transfer, add that to the list of charges.
The feds could also have a crack at him for 3 counts of the 1968 Gun Control Act: stealing a firearm, possessing a stolen firearm, and minor in possession of a handgun without written parental permission. Oh, and the teacher could be charged with receiving stolen property and possessing a gun on school grounds. Florida is a hotbed of asinine zero tolerance school administrations, don't think for a second the teacher won't be charged.

Edit to add one more thing: In Florida, the parents could be charged with violating the safe storage law.

the conveniently miss those important points. They want more laws but forget the existing laws that are out there they want to be enforced. Sucks to be that kid or teacher in their world. At least they get three hot meals a day, I think.

you advocate theft, does that go for all things that might be used as a weapon? How about kitchen knives, they get used quite often to kill.
