Man accidentally shot himself trying to kill mouse

A Canadian man accidentally shot himself in the forehead while trying to kill a mouse with the butt of his rifle.

The man was reportedly intending to crush the rodent with the weapon at a camp on Anjigami Lake in Ontario, but didn't know the gun was loaded.

As such he got quite a shock when the gun fired, with the bullet grazing his forehead but luckily not causing too much damage.

Police say the man was admitted to and released from the hospital, before being charged with careless use of a firearm.

A spokesperson said: "He was very lucky." It's not known what happened to the mouse.

the pin on the grenade is pulled and if the fuse is set on the artillery shell. When I did artillery, before I saw the light and went to the right recruiter the second time around, the fuse had to spin so many revolutions through the rifled tube before arming. I dropped a shell once loading one of these (the basket came unbuckled and dropped the round)

He was about 15, I guess. He had shot and downed his first deer and when he approached, it jumped a little. Instead of shooting it to finish it off, he clubbed it, and his rifle discharged and hit him in the leg. It hit him in the femur and took out a two inch section of bone. He was very lucky to survive - his dad got there right after - but spent about six months in Boston's Children's Hospital recovering. Needless to say, he had to wear a lift on that side to even his gait, and is effectively crippled the rest of his life.

The right tool for the right job.

Alternatly a concealed cat would have worked just as well.
