Related: About this forumThief Scolds Gun Owner with Disapproving Note
It all started with a simple mistake. Last Monday night, 48-year-old Mike Maisonneuve of Port St. Lucie left his firearm as well as several other valuables in his unlocked car. If that sounds like irresponsible gun ownership, then youre probably thinking the same thing that went through the head of one would-be thief.
Maisonneuve returned to his car Tuesday morning to discover that he had been robbed. His throwing knife, sheathe, .40 caliber pistol and gun magazines had been stolen from his unlocked vehicle. Maisonneuve then phoned police to report the crime, but when he turned back to his house he discovered that half of the crime had already been solved.
Sitting next to the front door was a plastic bag. The bag contained Maisonneuves gun and his knife, but 30 cartridges were missing. The bag also had a note from the thief. One side of the bag read LOADED GUN Unlocked car = STUPID!! and the other side of the bag read, LOTS OF Children in area.

(5,412 posts)I don't - this is clearly a maneuver on the part of conservatives to try and keep their minority in power a bit longer, since they can see as well as anyone that their demographic is shrinking.

(13,200 posts)The right to vote is also taken away from felons. (Arguably another minority voter suppression technique.)

With guns, federal ban since 1938, which would still apply if the state allows it.

If you can't think of any just go ahead and post something with "LOL" or some rofl-smilies or some other such middle-school nonsense.

Certainly! All of mine did. And in ways that endless re-postings of NRA Talking Points by the too-scared-to-walk-in-public-without-a-gun-crowd never will.
Now, Delicate Flower, since you asked for it, here is your LOL:

Going by the vitriol I get as responses to my posts, you're wrong. Don't worry, it's pretty typical for Delicate Flowers (AKA the DU Gun Lobby) to be wrong.

Kinda - or exactly - like pointing out how vacuous and ludicrous "arguments" from creationists are.

(1,089 posts)since I don't really perceive much of that. Either way, there's a dire lack of respect for each other down here in the Gungeon. Inflammatory posts grab my attention, but it's the friendly, reasoned ones that make me think. A good discussion is a lot more interesting than flinging insults at each other, don't you think? You've got a passion for this cause, that much is obvious, but I wanna hear more. Where's bongbong coming from, and why should I be on your side?

(15,396 posts)why not just lock the car doors?
I found a new 1995 chevrolet on the lot once with the keys inside. We got in started it up, debated on driving it to the other side of the lot. In the end we removed the keys from the ignition tossed them in the console and locked the doors.

I kinda figured locking up their new pickup was better than leaving the keys inside unlocked.
