So working on a story on...taxes.

My fair city has a small hole in the budget 1.7 billion, and it grew from initial assessment back earlier in the year from 1.4 billion. I know, what is a few million among friends. So local network news runs the Taxes, run for them hills, protect women and children! I mean, we want streets paved, and police stations, would be nice if city facilities had AC that works...but you need money. It's not like you can fart good intentions.

So reading the actual documents...yes, we will trail the rest...reading takes work. And Jesus, found the short fall. My irony meter broke when the city said we need to engage and educate citizens on why. This is the same media that has yet to look into why the Chargers have not been good to the city. But by golly we want a new stadium...coincidentally at 1.4 billion. Nope, not making this up.

But by golly, you want to know about the latest celeb trial?

This is one reason we are in the real trouble we are at.

The Chargers think the good citizens of San Diego should build them a new stadium, right?

We got talked into that a couple of times. We're still paying for the Kingdome and we imploded that in 2006!

after we renovated the Q and gave them a sweet deal. This fantasy includes a financing package that would have the city put in 400 million, the NFL some, the Chargers some and the county the rest. All this without raising taxes. Oh and that renovation was one reason the city got into deep financial trouble and we had to sue to get out of it in 2002. Something about bad faith. Long time San Diegans remember and will gladly help them well...pack.

To the credit of pols they can read polls and taxes for a new stadium would fail. So can the Bolts, who have concluded going to Carson is a better deal...them folks are newly excited and ready to get fleeced. So the politics of the mayor who lost the Chargers will be part of the reelection campaign for the Mayor and a few members of the board of supers.

Oh the bolts have given so many signals they are leaving my view, Pols should have pointed to the I5 north and told them bon voyage...and gone into how much the Bolts are costing the city. That would prevent the but, but, but...except for a few super fans honesty would be refreshing. But it is what it is.

The snorting my coffee out came when they spoke about how much prestige and spirit the team brings. Neither can be used to pave streets.
