Taiwan conducts drills to prepare for possible Chinese attack on nuclear plant

Taiwan's authorities have conducted drills to enhance their preparedness for a possible attack by the Chinese military against a nuclear power plant in Taiwan.

About 500 people, including police, firefighters, power utility workers and private volunteers, took part in the exercise held in the southern Taiwanese county of Pingtung on Thursday.

The drills were based on the scenario that military facilities and civilian buildings in the county are hit by missiles of the Chinese military.

Participants tried to extinguish fire and transport the injured amid the sound of sirens.

Going up the west coastline is Kao-hsiung and Tainan.

There’s a stretch of highway that’s designed to handle B-52 bombers. I knew what it was the first time I saw it. Widest highway I ever saw.
