Australia's $24 billion purchase of fighter jets is being questioned after Canada's new prime minister vowed to dump its order.
Justin Trudeau has promised to axe the $16 billion F-35 Joint Strike Fighters which have been dogged by criticism they won't stack up against Chinese or Russian aircraft.
Greens senator Peter Whish-Wilson told reporters he intends asking Defence officials on Wednesday whether Australia should continue with its purchase, given Canada's exit is likely to raise the cost of the acquisition.
