A HOPEFUL EMAIL to A landlord...

Yesterday, I helped my Veteran friend write an email to his landlady... I thought it would interesting to share it with DU.

Subject: U.S Government Closure

Dear Rachil.

As you may have seen in the News, recent events have caused the United States Government to close down. This has affected me directly, as I receive 100% disability checks each month from the Veterans Administration. This month, of October I have set aside as much cash as I could spare, which comes to $600.00. This is obviously not enough to cover my rent in November should the Government closure continue.

I am hoping that, I can cover what utilities I can and set aside 200 towards food. Its my hope that the Members of Congress get their act together soon, and allow the President to sign the CR bill that will allow all debts to be paid, including my disability check. If that check is late, they will tag interest to the amount of that which was withheld.

As my Rent may be late in November, that interest should cover any late fees. Hopefully this will not drag into December and January as it would not only be a disaster for you and I, but the rest of the Country itself.

I wanted to give you a heads up, that all of this is a possibility. At some point, the US Government will make good, as promised by the Veterans Administration to all U.S.Veterans. Hopefully the wait will not be long. Thank you for your understanding.

Signed (His Name)

Lets hope she is understanding, she is from Romania, and has a few properties that she owns. Hopefully things will be put right again
very soon.
