I Would Love to Have You Join Me!
Thirty-five years ago, I participated in and moderated two on-line forums at my job called Womannotes and Blacknotes, and I wrote commentary as the radical moderate. When I left the company, I left my voice behind. For a while. In 2004, after John Kerry lost to George W. Bush, I began reading and writing here at the Democratic Underground. Posting about my thoughts, my concerns, black issues, womens issues. And now I have come full circle and started my own blog. Born from my experience in writing Afro-Bougie Blues, it is the authentic me. I write about writing, reading, and stories. I write about the themes behind my stories. And I write about the things I care about. Like abortion and feminism, black history, Native American concerns, domestic violence. I keep it real, I keep it personal. I pull in facts, I do my homework.
I want to share this authentic me with you. Come on in, the water is fine.
