Not a good way to bring anyone to his side. I was liking him today but now I'm back to meh.

is surely not sanctioned by the Sanders campaign.

The person who created that monstrosity doesn't understand the first thing about politics or campaigns.

It does give us a sense as to just how low DU has sunk. Clueless, rude, nasty--that's the way people seek attention lately.

I saw a post telling DUers to "shut the fuck up" that had close to 200 recs. I mean, really--that's how we rally the troops?

This website has turned into a gathering spot for a confederacy of dunces, sadly. This group is one of the few safe, sane and intelligent corners left!

On Wed Apr 29, 2015, 11:58 PM an alert was sent on the following post:

old white guy
http://www.democraticunderground.com/12777544

REASON FOR ALERT

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

This is completely insensitive and inappropriate for DU.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Thu Apr 30, 2015, 12:01 AM, and the Jury voted 3-4 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #2 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Well I will vote to hide because I agree with the alerter. But who the hell knows anymore, we have a thread with a 120 plus recs telling people to stfu. Yay DU.
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: This alert abuses the system and wastes the time of those who want it to work. LEAVE IT ALONE. Absolutely.
Juror #5 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Beyond stupid, but an indicator of things to come.
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: NO it isn't. It's an ironic statement-that is, that the person out of this group of three who, according to most assumptions is least likely to be the most progressive ends up being just that.

Nothing to get torqued about.
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: ???

Some people really don't see the under layer. I honestly believe many don't mean it, but it is nothing more than a case of "white blindness."

I've seen too many of those same people say other things as well. If you don't get it by now, and you refuse to even consider another person's experience, then it's no longer blindness. It's willful and often hateful ignorance.

While economics and social issues may be intertwined, without correcting the social maladies, the other will never be corrected. More than a few don't seem to understand this.

The Black Lives Matter movement has been particularly successful in raising awareness of this.

It is easy for me to see because I am gay, though others in my community still don't see it. Despite our current economic success (knocking on wood), we still live in a state where, if we rented, we could lose our home or my husband could lose his job. Hell, even our very marriage is up for debate and no amount of money will make a whit of difference if we suddenly aren't married anymore, only more problems.

How much money does Oprah make? And yet, looking for a purse she was deemed "unable to afford" the boutique's inventory and it sure as hell wasn't because of the color of her money!

And I don't believe for one minute that came from Sanders. And I don't believe Sanders thinks that way at all.
