Good stuff there:
Sanders had bungled his outreach to the black base. Though he spent a lot of time talking about economic inequality, his message seemed aimed at the thousands of white liberals who attended his rallies. A month later, I accused his white online supporters of condescending to black people who weren’t sold on his civil rights record.

I’ve heard these concerns echoed throughout the black community. Just a few days ago, Fordham University political scientist Christina Greer said that, “in the rush to make it all about class, you turn on your blinders to certain things that quite frankly aren’t about class … [Sanders is] missing a very large piece of the puzzle, and what makes some black voters nervous, there seems to be a huge gap in his understanding about race.”

...

This isn’t an endorsement — I’m a reporter covering the 2016 race, and I’m keeping an open mind. But after hearing black women like Garner explain the intersection of economic racism and police brutality, I’m willing to think of Sanders as an advocate for black people, someone I should cover seriously.

This doesn’t mean Sanders couldn’t do a better job of drawing these parallels himself. He still has a lot of work to do to earn the black vote, but let’s not pretend he hasn’t improved his message at all since Netroots Nation. He has.

candidates and positions, including threads in which you took part without having any criticism of the fact that it was yet again straight person taking the pulpit to address the world on LGBT issues and to inform LGBT of our best interests.
That's really just politics. But it is a very, very regular feature on DU. We just went though the whole Human Rights Campaign dust up in which many, many straights on DU harped at me that I should not call then establishment even thought they have betrayed the transgender community, endorsed Republicans and anti choice candidates and also those who oppose affirmative action. How many OP's about that? How many were by LGBT?
Why is it permitted to lecture LGBT if one is straight? You take part in that. Why do you think that is ok?

show me right now where I take part in lecturing LGBT, please..you said I did...

if you can find me lecturing that community, as opposed to remarking in a thread where others do, I will promptly apologize

Unlike some here, when I am wrong I always admit it and when an apology is due I always submit it.

In fact I hope you can, I know I have a lot to learn about different communities, and making mistakes and correcting them is a good way to learn.

.....

Wont change the fact that the discussion we are having now is about lecturing, now will it.

And you did. Straight people do that on DU all the time. And you never, ever object to your own fellow straights preaching and lecturing at, to and about LGBT. You know that is the fact, don't even try to play.

How many OP's in the last month about LGBT in GDP? Now how many were posted by straights? Answer is virtually all of them. Ordering us to obey them. Not ever listening. Telling. Own your work.

Your response to the straight author of that thread: "You do have to get a kick out of some folks who dont give two shits about the LGBT community unless they see a way to BASH someone in using them." Very ironic as straight on straight dialog.

Or you could go to the time where I was half assed defending the pope for not being 100% horrible (instead only 90% horrible) given he is liberal in comparison to others, and you reminded me of his horrid position on LGBT and I instantly acknowledged that, you or someone else

You could do that, but you wont...

REASON FOR ALERT

This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

Poster links to an op who only posted a link to an article by an AA author, there is no lecture. This is a callout and a personal attack, accusing another poster of lecturing "black people" when he doesn't even know if that person is a PoC.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Sat Jan 30, 2016, 05:02 PM, and the Jury voted 3-4 to LEAVE IT.

But just repeating that here, even in AA group, is risky, I could be permanently silenced any minute now.

I say permanent, technically that isnt true. I guess until one of my other hides where I called out racists on DU falls off.

Even posting here in AA I BARELY escaped being hidden and silenced, it was 4-3. Clearly some folks on DU dont like it when I tell the truth.

It's been going on long before Jeremy Corbyn even stood as leader of the Labour party. Now he's been leader for about four months. I didn't vote for him, I voted for Andy Burnham, but I accept the result and think the party needs to fall in line behind him. There were disagreements between the various supporters but nothing like the level of nastiness and character assassination evident in the Sanders/Clinton groups.

The only people it's helping are the Republicans.

Some of the vicious and relentless attacks of our candidates come from well meaning but politically immature people who dont see the damage they are doing, and some comes from the rightwing by planting people here.
