Lift Every Voice and Sing...

vimeo.com/154497605

I know this is an African American hymn. I hope you will let us share it with you. It gives me hope. We are all on the dark side now, yet we are Stronger Together. You need me and I need you.

I read a post a short time ago, vets took a knee to the Sioux. My thoughts? America should have taken a knee to you a long long time ago.

we have a supplemental hymnal to the main Episcopal hymnal. This supplemental hymnal is known as LEVAS, which stands for Lift Every Voice and Sing. We have a choirmaster from New Orleans that really understands the music. LEVAS has many traditional American hymns, including many African-American hymns, like Precious Lord, My Hope is Built on Nothing Less, Leaning on the Everlasting Arms, etc.

Here is another great version.

I am not a church goer anymore. Yes Episcopal hymnal as well as the supplemental ..I was bored with the service and read the intro to the book. A history of the songs. I wanted to take it with me to read more.

Thank you for the video link, kwassa.

not to try to sell you on religion or anything. We are a big social justice church. Extremely liberal. The entire diocese is very liberal, and welcoming to all. Great music, too. And fun.
