No Bail for Repeat Offender; Bail for first offender; for striking Cops at NYC rally

NY Daily News:
A man who allegedly punched the NYPD’s top cop was freed without posting bail — while a woman accused of whacking an officer with a wooden cane during the same protest had bail set at $7,500.

Quran Campbell...allegedly punched Lt. Richard Mack of the NYPD Strategic Response Group in the face during a clash on the Brooklyn Bridge between cops and Occupy City Hall protesters...When NYPD Chief of Department Terrance Monahan tried to intervene...Campbell then punched him in the face...The pummeling caused multiple fractures of the officer’s orbital bones and cuts that required 12 stitches, prosecutors said...

Prosecutors requested a judge hold (Campbell) on $75,000 cash over a $100,000 bond, but Judge Robert Rosenthal freed him under supervised release. Meanwhile, Manhattan Criminal Court Judge John Howard-Algarin set bail of $7,500 for Chanice Reyes at her arraignment Friday arraignment on charges she thrashed an NYPD officer with a cane at the same protest. Reyes made bail and was freed later in the day...

ABC News:
At least four officers were hurt...and 37 people were arrested, police said. Information on charges was not immediately available.
